Our evidence informs the Senedd Finance Committee’s scrutiny of the Welsh Government Draft Budget 2024-25

Ahead of the debate on the Welsh Government’s Draft Budget, we’re pleased that our work has informed the Senedd Committee on Finance’s report and recommendations.

Our insights have contributed to discussions around spending priorities, the cost of living and the Welsh Benefits Charter, as well as the Education Maintenance Allowance, free school meals and energy support for low income households.

We are also pleased to see that many of our calls to the Welsh Government to do more to solve poverty have been included in the Committee’s recommendations. These include providing a timeline to implement a Welsh Benefits Charter, reviewing the eligibility thresholds for free school meals for secondary school pupils, and accelerating the rollout of the Warm Homes programme.

The debate on the Draft Budget will take place in Plenary tomorrow (6 February) and you can watch it here.
