The Bevan Foundation gratefully acknowledges the contribution of William Powell as a trustee, as he steps down.

The Bevan Foundation has thanked William Powell for his service as a trustee of the charity. Appointed in July 2018, William has brought a wealth of experience and insight from his varied roles in public life to the board. This is despite being seriously ill with Covid-19 earlier this year – William is pictured above with two Aneurin Health Board nurses who helped his recovery.William is stepping down to contest the Brecon and Radnor constituency in the next Welsh Parliament elections, in line with the Bevan Foundation’s policy on political independence. He was previously represented the regional area of Mid and West Wales in the National Assembly for Wales for the Liberal Democrats.

Chair of the Board, Vivienne Sugar, said:

We are very grateful to William for giving his time so generously to the Bevan Foundation over the last two and a half years. We are pleased that he wants to re-enter national political life and are sorry that means he must leave us. We’d like to thank him for his service and wish him well’.
