This short paper brings together some of the Bevan Foundation’s recent work on the economy and labour market into a set of proposals for that would help to achieve a step-change in the economy and labour market of the south Wales valleys.

The key themes are:

  • overarching principles
  • spatial priorities
  • more and better jobs
  • helping people into work.
