The future of Cardiff and the Valleys was hotly debated at one of Hugh James’s regular ‘Exchange’ events held in St David’s Hotel, Cardiff, on 11th June. Bevan Foundation Director, Victoria Winckler, joined a panel including chair of the Welsh Government’s Task and Finish Group on city regions, Dr Elizabeth Haywood, Glamorgan University’s Professor Stuart Cole and Cardiff City Council’s Chief Executive Jon House who also gave the opening speech.

With about 150 delegates from a variety of commercial, legal and business interests, improved public transport and the need for strong leadership were key themes.

Victoria Winckler’s contribution to the discussion is summarised here
