Join the Bevan Foundation to hear our findings on supporting people with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) in Wales

What is it about?

People subject to NRPF, and their families, are at a heightened risk of destitution. NRPF is a condition attached to a visa when someone is subject to immigration control. It removes much of the financial safety net by restricting access to many welfare benefits which are classed as ‘public funds’. It is often assumed that having NRPF means that there is no support available at all, but this is not the case. Local authorities in Wales have statutory duties and the Welsh Government has produced guidance on how best to support migrants with NRPF. Despite this, a lack of consistency and gaps in support mean that many adults and children affected by NRPF are not accessing available support and entitlements. With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, it is crucial that a support framework is put in place to prevent and provide paths out of destitution.

Why you should take part

In this 45 minute online event, we will share important findings from our most recent research into support for people with NRPF in Wales. We will give a short presentation of the key findings and our recommendations. You will have the opportunity to comment and ask questions about our research.
