Influencing the Welsh Government can be an effective way of achieving lasting change.  This online course will give you the knowledge, tools, tips and contacts you need to make a difference.

Online session via Zoom with interactive sessions and full course materials

Persuading the Welsh Government to change policies, legislation or spending can be a highly effective way of achieving lasting change for your organisation’s beneficiaries, customers or clients. But there are many pitfalls along the way. Avoid falling into a trap by learning from the team at Wales’ most influential think tank.

What it’s about

This course will help you to understand:

  • when to target the Welsh Government
  • different opportunities to influence and how to use them
  • keeping on the right side of the law and the Charity Commission
  • preparing an effective influencing strategy.

Quality assured

The course is led by experts from Wales’ most influential think tank, as acknowledged by political leaders in the Senedd on 9th February 2022:

“I … very much welcome the work that [the Bevan Foundation] do here in Wales”
Mark Drakeford, First Minister

“One of the leading organisations [is] the Bevan Foundation. … Can we look at the ideas that the foundation and others are suggesting?”
Adam Price, then Leader of Plaid Cymru

The course draws on the techniques used in our sold-out and top-rated sessions held in September  2023 and January 2024.

Who should attend

The course will be of interest to everyone who wants to be heard by Welsh Government including:

  • charities, social enterprises and other voluntary groups
  • professional associations and representative bodies
  • academics seeking policy impact from their research findings
  • grassroots campaigners.
