Wales has a long and proud tradition of thriving co-operatives. This report sets out the contribution they make.

There are more than a hundred community co-operatives in Wales today, and they come in all shapes, sizes and sectors and are found in almost all parts of Wales. They provide a wide range of services that benefit their locality including village shops, food co-operatives, training and education, pubs and cafes, community centres and renewable energy.

Community co-operatives offer significant economic, social and environmental benefits to their communities and to Wales as a whole, because they bring together people who are committed to their community to deliver services that the community needs and wants.
