We are pleased that openDemocracy has rated the Bevan Foundation an ‘A’ for funding transparency – the top category.

The Who Funds You? project helps people understand more about think tanks that work to influence public policy. Using the methodology developed by Who Funds You?, openDemocracy has determined these rankings by looking at each organisation’s website, or annual accounts where a link is provided on the website. Ratings are based on accessibility of information.

The Bevan Foundation has been ranked as an ‘A’ because we:

  • Have named all funders who gave £5,000 or more in the last reported year
  • Have declared the exact amount given by each funder.

As well as auditing think tanks’ financial transparency, this year openDemocracy have rated the influence of each organisation. We are pleased that the Bevan Foundation has been rated as having ‘medium’ influence amongst the ranking of all UK think tanks, alongside a number of organisations with far larger seven-figure incomes. These ratings are based on each organisation’s social media engagements and the number of mentions they had in British parliament between October 2022 and September 2023.
