On Monday 26th June, we welcomed supporters and subscribers to our summer social.

Our summer social in the Norwegian Church Arts Centre, Cardiff, brought a wide range of people and organisations with a shared concern about social justice. We were pleased to see a great turnout of supporters, subscribers and followers of our work.

The highlight of the evening was the keynote speech delivered by Mick Antoniw MS, Counsel General for Wales and Minister for the Constitution. He talked powerfully about the need for a justice system that was local and accessible to people, as well as challenge of resolving the social problems that lead to the overrepresentation in the criminal justice system of people from socially excluded, ethnic minority, and low-income backgrounds. The text of his speech will be available shortly.

The evening was completed with a networking session with great background music from a Jazz Duo from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Charlie Herbert and Dan Vause.

As we reflect upon our Summer Social, we invite you to join us in our cause to end poverty and inequality in Wales. You can stay informed about our ongoing work by signing up to our free e-news, ‘The Spark’, or even help us make a difference by becoming a supporter.
