The Bevan Foundation’s work has featured in the media throughout April.
Aspects of our work around poverty and the Welsh economy received media coverage this month.
Poverty
As the energy price cap drop made the headlines, the Foundation’s Head of Policy (Poverty), Steffan Evans, appeared on BBC Wales Today to remind us that the situation isn’t getting easier for people in the most difficult situations.
The Pembrokeshire Herald covered the Welsh Liberal Democrats’ calls for more action to tackle child poverty, drawing on our research that 29% of children living in Wales are currently experiencing poverty. Our work on child poverty was also mentioned in an article from The Caerphilly Observer.
Economy
In April, our Director, Victoria Winckler, appeared on BBC Radio Wales to discuss new findings from The Health Foundation around the rising number of people living with a major illness. Victoria also discussed this research in her Business News Wales column this month, highlighting the impact it will have on the Welsh economy.
The Foundation’s work was also featured on BBC Radio 4’s Today this month, as Victoria discussed the difference a tourism tax could make to communities in Wales.
