‘Twitter Chat’ on eradicating poverty

To mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on 17th October 2019, the Bevan Foundation hosted a Twitter Chat on what should be done to end child poverty in Wales.

Twitter Chats are a new way for people to exchange ideas about a topic. With the Bevan Foundation as host and a team of four panellists on hand, we asked five open questions over an hour to which anyone could respond.  A lively debate ensued, with at least 32 people contributing to the discussion.

The debate was wide ranging covering everything from whether work is still a route out of poverty to the opportunities denied children from low income families to the role of education. Here are a selection of comments:
