Ebbw Vale enjoyed a unique festival to celebrate diversity and increase understanding of equality on Friday, 17th February 2012.

Drop-in sessions to learn Caribbean steel-pan drumming and to find out what life is like with a visual impairment were popular with adults and children alike.  Later, discussion sessions on making the most of older life and on “women making a difference” in Blaenau Gwent provoked a lively debate as well as challenging stereotypes. The arts, in the form of a performance by Hi Jinx Theatre and a screening of Stonewall’s Fit, were intriguing, informative and fun too!

The festival was funded by the Welsh Government’s Advancing Equality Fund.
