How Fair is Wales?

Some of the greatest inequalities in Wales today are experienced by older, working-class men as well as by groups of people with ‘protected characteristics’. The Bevan Foundation and New Policy Institute came to this conclusion after reviewing a wealth of statistical evidence on inequality in Wales, following on from the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s large-scale review of fairness in Britain. The report puts the evidence in the context of marked changes in Wales’s economy and society, and sets out seven challenges to the Welsh Government. It was launched at two conferences, one in south Wales and one in north Wales, at which Victoria Winckler, Bevan Foundation Director (pictured below) spoke.
