Our video on community energy collaborations for success

Helen Cunningham of the Bevan Foundation held a conversation with Dan McCallum MBE, Director and co-founder of community energy charity Awel Aman Tawe and Egni co-op; the largest solar co-operative in the UK.

In a conversation about their respective areas of work, Dan and Helen discuss issues relating to climate change and growing more social enterprise in Wales. In it, Dan shares the achievements of Egni Co-op and the huge potential of community energy co-ops. He talks about some of the best collaborations Egni has had with local authorities and their schools to generate renewable energy and educational outcomes at the same time. He also shared his thoughts on how the Bevan Foundation has helped raise awareness of the wider policy context and the potential of public procurement to act as a catalyst for innovative and successful collaborations success that respond to the climate crisis and deliver other social outcomes, as well as creating a space for co-operatives to bring put their skills and expertise into action for mutual benefits.
