What this briefing is about

Child poverty is endemic in Wales, remaining stubbornly high at or around 30% for over a decade. Whilst extensive work has been undertaken into understanding the problem, the voices of children themselves are often overlooked.

This briefing seeks to address this. It analyses the data from a survey of children living in Wales, commissioned by the Bevan Foundation from Beaufort Research in October 2023. It explores children’s concerns about their finances and those of their family, and the effects of family finances on their lives, their health and comfort, education, and ability to take part in activities.

Access to the briefing is a benefit of a subscription to the Bevan Foundation. Please contact us if you would like to know more.
