Review of bus policy

In early 2014, the Director of the Bevan Foundation, Victoria Winckler, was asked by the Welsh Minister for Transport to chair a group to review its policies on buses.  This report is sets out the group’s recommendations.

The group consisted of bus operators, local authorities and passenger representatives, and their remit was to:

  • identify actions that needed to be taken to support a commercially sustainable bus network,
  • improve accessibility for disabled passengers and
  • promote bus use amongst young people.

The group reported to the Minister at the end of June 2014 – a copy is available below. In November 2014 the group reconvened to take the issues identified in the report forward.
