Our Project Officer, Elinor Mattey, shared some of our recent work at the Right to Food Hunger March in Pontypridd
On Saturday 27th January, Rhondda Cynon Taff Trades Union Council held a Right To Food Rally and Hunger March.
The Bevan Foundation was invited to provide a speaker alongside other panellists Neville Southall, Beth Winter MP, Jason Richards of RCTTUC, foodbank manager Amanda Haydon-Hall, and Merthyr Cynon Foodbank Project Manager, Cleide Correia.
Speaking on behalf of the Bevan Foundation, as an independent charity, Elinor shared our recent work about children’s access to Free School Meals across Wales. Our recent project around supporting people with no recourse to public funds has shown that many children’s eligibility is affected by their parents’ immigration status. More findings will be published next month.
