What is it about?

Children deserve a secure start in life to reach their full potential. Yet 3 in 10 children in Wales still live in poverty. Under-5s in low-income families are amongst the hardest hit, with 4 in 10 children living in a family where the youngest child is under 5 trapped in poverty.

But what are the reasons for this and what can be done?

Join the Bevan Foundation and Barnardo’s Cymru for our roundtable discussion on Wednesday 19th June to explore these questions further. At the roundtable you will have an opportunity to:

  • Hear the emerging findings from the Bevan Foundation’s own research into poverty in families with young children
  • Share your thoughts on why poverty rates are highest among families with children aged under 5
  • Share your ideas about what steps should be taken to ease the grip of poverty on families with young children

Who should attend?

The event is by invitation only. Invites will be sent to organisations and individuals who have an interest in the area. If you have an interest and have not received an invite then we would be delighted if you could join the roundtable by contacting us. Due to limited space, places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Attendance is free.
