As part of our ongoing project looking at Personal Finance Management apps in Wales we are holding a virtual roundtable event for people working in financial inclusion across Wales. This event is an opportunity for you to learn more about financial management apps, share you experiences and to discuss both the benefits and the harms they could cause within our communities.
Personal Financial Management apps provide a new way for people to manage their money. These apps are operated by third parties and whilst they aren’t part of registered banks they offer several bank-like services. The aim of the apps is to allow people to better manage their finances with several services on offer including automated savings and money categorisation.
The services offered by these apps are becoming more and more common, with many being adopted by high street banks as part of their digital banking offering. Despite this, very little is known about how these apps are being used within Welsh communities and about whether they are having a positive or a negative impact.
This event provides an opportunity for people working in financial inclusion in Wales to learn more about these apps and about the services they offer. It also provides you with an opportunity to have your say about the potential benefits and harms that these services could cause and to share your ideas about what opportunities they may present our communities going forward.
Join us at 2pm on Tuesday 21st of November to have your say. The event will last 1 hour 30 minutes.
This will be an online event held via Teams, with joining instructions to follow closer to the date.
Full agenda of the event will be emailed to registrants at a later date.
The event is by invitation only. Invites will be sent to organisations and individuals who have an interest in the area. If you have an interest and have not received an invite then we would be delighted if you could join the roundtable by contacting us.
Attendance is free.
