The event was held at Principality Building Society\u2019s offices in Cardiff and was organised by the Welsh Government in partnership with the Financial Conduct Authority. The event gave people from a range of sectors an opportunity to discuss some of the latest developments in banking and to consider how can we ensure that everyone in Wales has access to banking in a way that meets their needs, within their communities.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Foundation\u2019s Head of Policy (Poverty), Steffan Evans, was invited to join a panel discussion on financial inclusion in Wales. The panel was chaired by Jo Karatzidis of the FCA, and joining Steffan on the panel were representative from the Money and Pensions Advice Service, Lloyd\u2019s Banking Group and Principality Building Society. The discussion was a broad ranging discussing several aspects of financial inclusion and the impact of the cost of living crisis. Steffan shared insights from the Foundation\u2019s recent <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bevanfoundation.org\/resources\/a-snapshot-of-poverty-winter-2024\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Snapshot of Poverty<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> report to highlight just how difficult life is in many Welsh communities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The event also provided the Foundation with an opportunity to promote work that is still ongoing. Steffan gave an overview of the Bevan Foundation\u2019s work on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bevanfoundation.org\/current-projects\/money-management-apps\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Money Management apps<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. The project, which is funded by the Which? Fund is exploring the harms and benefits of open banking money management apps for people on low incomes. Steffan shared some of the early findings form the work with those present and explored both the opportunities and limitations of such apps for improving financial inclusion.\u00a0<\/span><span
