My Job, My Future: Flexicurity

Flexicurity is a European idea in which greater labour market flexibility is combined with more welfare security – it challenges conventional ideas about job security and the availability of welfare benefits, and has yet to be adopted outside parts of Europe even though it could have great relevance for supporting the development of areas that are undergoing rapid economic change. The report, written by Victoria Winckler, looks at the views of 37 young workers in West Wales and the Valleys and finds that more needs to be done to ensure there is a mature debate on the issues.
