The Bevan Foundation has shared insights from its work on the Local Housing Allowance and homelessness with the Senedd’s Local Government and Housing Committee.

The Senedd’s Local Government and Housing Committee has recently opened an inquiry into homelessness in Wales. The Bevan Foundation is pleased to have been able to submit a written response to the committee ahead of giving oral evidence later in the month.

Our evidence draws heavily on our ongoing work exploring the relationship between the Local Housing Allowance and homelessness in Wales, including our most recent publications on the rental market in Wales, and our work on holiday lets. Among the issues we cover in our response are the supply, suitability and quality of temporary accommodation, and options to increase the supply of affordable and appropriate housing in the short to medium term.

Our response can be read in full below.
