The next UK government must do more to improve living standards and access to justice.

The UK government has a vital role to play in delivering a better future for Wales. Through the allocation of funding to the Welsh government and its control of taxation and benefits, employment rights, immigration and the justice system, its actions underpin the prospects of Wales’s 3.2 million people.

As an independent charity, the Bevan Foundation is not aligned with any political party. This manifesto, issued ahead of the General Election, sets out our recommendations to the next UK government – for politicians and their advisors, for decision makers across public, third and private sectors, and for the wider public.

Our priorities fall into four areas:

  • Guaranteeing the essentials for living
  • A decent home for all
  • Immigration justice
  • Respect for devolution
