The Bevan Foundation has submitted evidence to the National Assembly for Wales Equality, Local Government and Communities Committee’s inquiry into ‘making the economy work for people on low incomes’. This is the third theme in the Committee’s work on poverty.

Our written evidence said that the Welsh Government’s focus in its economic and skills policies should be on:

  • creating more jobs
  • creating better jobs
  • helping people into work
  • a benefit system that works.

We also gave oral evidence to the Committee on 5th July 2017, which you can read here or view on Senedd TV.
