Consultation response: maintaining free bus travel for older people, disabled people and veterans

The Bevan Foundation has responded to the Welsh Government’s consultation on Mandatory Concessionary Fares: Maintaining free bus travel for older people, disabled people and injured service veterans.

The Bevan Foundation has submitted its response to the Welsh Government’s consultation on the Concessionary Fares Scheme.  The response argues that while extending the number of people eligible for free travel and restricting the scheme to off-peak use may have some merit, there needs to be wider consideration of whether subsidising the travel of older people disadvantages others.
