Migrants in Wales have been given a voice to share their experiences

Migration EU flags

Insight

Wales is becoming a more diverse society, yet there is little discussion about how to successfully manage the impact of population change to ensure that communities are cohesive and migrants can play a full, active and equal part in society.

Idea

Through our work we have given a voice to migrants who are seldom heard. We have identified that while many have a very positive experience of settling in Wales, some endure hostility and discrimination and face barriers when trying to access public services and employment.

Impact

We have highlighted the lack of opportunities for migrants to make lasting social connections which can often lead to isolation with few opportunities to integrate.
