We were pleased to discuss our work at Welsh Labour Conference in Llandudno last weekend

At the Bevan Foundation’s stand in the Conference exhibition, we met delegates from all over Wales including the First Minister, MPs, MSs, Councillors and representatives from third sector organisations. It was a fantastic opportunity to talk about the work we’re doing around poverty, housing and access to justice, and to hear from people about the key issues that matter to them. We also shared the news of our 2024 Christmas appeal to help get more, better and affordable homes for everyone in Wales.

Our larger-than-life Aneurin Bevan placard was a hit, with many delegates stopping by for a photo. And it was wonderful to see our Bevan stickers and badges on delegates’ passes and lapels throughout the conference.

On the Saturday evening, we also hosted a Fringe event which asked: What will it take to end the housing crisis? Our panel included John Griffiths MS, Cllr Emily Owen, Shelter Cymru’s Lauren Caley, and our own Senior Policy & Research Officer, Wendy Dearden. The audience for the event consisted of elected officials, housing professionals and other delegates who provided valuable contributions to the discussion.

The Conference was an opportunity to connect with a wide range of people, share our work, and have important conversations about the challenges facing Wales today. We’re looking forward to continuing these discussions and working towards solutions to a fairer Wales.

The Bevan Foundation is a charity and does not have any political affiliation. It attends the conferences of several political parties to raise awareness about its work.
