The Trustees and staff of the Bevan Foundation unreservedly condemn the racist violence, Islamphobia, hatred and divisions seen in recent weeks. The Bevan Foundation is committed to eradicating racism, and stands in solidarity with migrant and minoritised communities, and organisations which support them,  who have faced, and continue to face, fear and intimidation.

We are pleased to have supported the Wales Centre for International Affairs’ Statement of Solidarity and Togetherness, as part of the Human Rights Stakeholder Group.  We are also proud to have pledged to tackle racism via Zero Racism Wales.

This is not a one-off reaction.  Racism, Islamophobia and hatred are an everyday reality, and must be tackled consistently and comprehensively.  The Bevan Foundation is working hard to become an anti-racist organisation, taking active steps to challenge racism and to be inclusive and diverse, as well as supporting the rights of migrants through our work.

Wales has a strong and proud history of welcome, diversity and inclusion. The Bevan Foundation aims to play its part in addressing the structural causes of racism, inequality and injustice.
