The Bevan Foundation helped to inform the general public through a range of topical articles and expert comment in Welsh and UK media.

Our work on Education Maintenance Allowance attracted a lot of interest early in the month.  Our director, Victoria Winckler, was interviewed for BBC Wales TV’s flagship news programme Wales Today on 9th February and also contributed to BBC Radio Wales’ morning show the same day. Some of her comments were highlighted in an article on the BBC Wales news website.

We continued to be asked to share our expertise on the cost of living, with Steffan Evans, our head of policy, appearing on ITV Wales news on 2nd  February. Our work on AirBnB also generates ongoing interest with Steffan Evans contribution to LBC’s lunchtime show on 20th  February.

Last but not least we were pleased to contribute two guest articles to other organisations’ publications:

  • a guest article for Politics Home and The House magazine on levelling up in Blaenau Gwent
  • our monthly column for Business News Wales which looked at house prices.

The Bevan Foundation is available for informed comment on a range of issues including poverty and the cost of living, housing and access to justice. Please contact us.
