Extensive press coverage for Bevan Foundation through October

Despite significant political turmoil the Bevan Foundation’s work was still the subject of significant media coverage through October.

Cost of living crisis

Perhaps unsurprisingly it was in the context of the cost of living crisis that much of the Bevan Foundation’s work was covered by the press through October.

To start the month, the Foundation’s Director, Dr Victoria Winckler was interviewed by BBC Wales’ Sunday Politics on the impact of the cost of living crisis on Welsh communities and people’s health. The item, first broadcast on October 2 was also the subject of a BBC Wales website article and also featured on BBC Wales Today.

The Foundation’s Head of Policy (Poverty), Dr Steffan Evans also made a number of broadcast appearances throughout the month to discuss the cost of living crisis including appearing live on ITV Wales’, Wales at Six programme on 20 October, and on S4C’s Newyddion programme on October 4 and October 27.

The Foundation’s work on the cost of living crisis also gathered attention from a range of other outlets including a blog on the Church in Wales’ website, and a blog by the Senedd’s Research Service

Affordable housing

The Foundation’s recent work on the shortage of affordable housing is also still informing discussions. Throughout October Nation.Cymru published two articles highlighting how the Foundation’s work had been raised in the Senedd. The Foundation’s work was also referenced in articles that appeared in Wales 247 and in the Tivy-Side
