Bevan Foundation on Politics Wales to discuss child poverty
The Bevan Foundation’s Head of Policy (Poverty), Dr Steffan Evans joined the Children’s Commissioner on BBC Politics Wales on Sunday, July 17th to discuss the extent of child poverty in Wales and to explore solutions.
Steffan outlined the long term impact of poverty for children’s health and education, and the implications of this for broader public policy, arguing that it was crucial that action was taken. He argued that it was vital that the UK Government took action to ensure that the social security system provides families was adequate levels of support, whilst at the same time making case that there was further action that the Welsh Government could be taking to address child poverty.
