On Monday the 4th of July, Bevan Foundation Director Dr Victoria Winckler gave evidence to the Senedd’s Equalities and Social Justice Committee

The session was part of the committees wider work on the Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Bill.

The Bevan Foundation welcomes the bill, but argues that there is still more to be done in improving workers conditions.

Among the key points made by Victoria was that there need to be wider support offered beyond the legislation. Greater effort needs to be made to improve the level of skills of Welsh workers throughout their careers. Support needs to be made on offer to companies to fulfil their duties. Finally, Victoria made clear that there is are financial consequences if workers rights and conditions are not improved.
