The Bevan Foundation recently held at event at Westminster to promote our findings from our Local Housing Allowance project

The event, hosted and chaired by Cynon Valley MP Beth Winter, was a chance to share our recent findings on the LHA.

Head of Policy (poverty), Steffan Evans, and Housing Policy Officer, Hugh Kocan, travelled to London to discuss the most up to date data on the LHA in Wales and policy recommendations for the UK Government.

The event was well attended by parliamentarians and third sector representatives alike, who all engaged in a interesting discussion on how to raise the issue up the agenda.

We thank Beth Winter MP, for her support in organising the event, and all those who attended.

The Bevan Foundation will be continuing our work on the LHA to promote our package of recommendations, and the urgency in which these recommendations should be introduced.

from these discussions, there was broad agreement that there is still work to be done. We are continuing conversations with those who attended the event to ensure that we can continue or vital campaigning work.

If you want to support the Bevan Foundation’s work to make Wales a fairer place, please consider donating to us to help us continue our work.
