Election break for staff

March 25th 2021

As Wales enters the pre-election period, two Bevan Foundation staff are taking a break.

As political parties prepare for the Senedd elections, two Bevan Foundation staff are taking a break to stand as candidates.  Helen Cunningham and Hugh Kocan follow former trustee, William Powell, in stepping back from their roles during the election period.

The Bevan Foundation welcomes their engagement in the democratic process and the spectrum of views involved – our team are seeking office under the banner of three different political parties. However, in line with our political independence and guidance from the Charity Commission, we have to ensure a separation of roles during the election period as well as our usual impartiality at all times.

We wish them a fair and clean campaign and look forward to welcoming them back to the team in May.
