The Bevan Foundation will explore the journey and experiences of people starting up a social business in the south Wales valleys.

This autumn, the Bevan Foundation will partner up with social enterprise charity UnLtd and  Enterprise Hub Welsh ICE on an online programme of support for social entrepreneurs starting out in the South Wales Valleys.

Throughout October and November, budding social entrepreneurs will have the chance to learn about all aspects of starting and running a social business through the online ” 5-9 club” which provides free after hours learning over an eight week period. The free sessions will cover idea generation, sales, marketing, branding, putting your business online, business planning, pitching your idea, impact and influencing, as well as providing essential funding and legal advice.

As part of the programme, the Bevan Foundation will be capturing the experiences and views of valleys social entrepreneurs on their business journey. These will be used to help raise awareness and inform practical solutions to help grow social business in the south Wales valleys to help build stronger local economies.

Each week will be led by different industry experts and social entrepreneurs. At the end of the programme, participants will have the chance to be shortlisted for an UnLtd cash award to support their social business idea.
