The Bevan Foundation has joined 50 other organisations in calling on the UK Government to retain temporary changes to Universal Credit
The Bevan Foundation is delighted to have joined together with 50 other organisations, including the Joseph Rowntree Foundation to call on the Welsh Government to make the £20 uplift to Universal Credit permanent. The temporary changes, introduced back at the outset of the pandemic has assisted hundreds of thousands of families across the UK, and making the change permanent could prevent 700,000 people being pulled into poverty. As many as 900,000 people would benefit directly from retaining the temporary changes, put more money in their pockets and into the Welsh economy.
