The hidden burden of school uniform in Wales

Poverty
NewsNovember 13th, 2018

Half term may have been and gone, but the cost of school uniform has left a lasting mark on many families’ finances.

Our latest infographic shows the hidden burden of school uniform.

  • Families going without basic essentials like food
  • Families getting borrowing money and getting into debt
  • Children missing school and not making the most of their education

But it also highlights the changes set to positively impact parents and children in Wales. Changes we helped bring about.

With your support, we can help to solve poverty for all people, including those families faced with buying costly school uniforms.  A small regular donation ensures we can develop lasting solutions, independent of government, councils or any political party. It will mean that the school term will start with good memories.

You can help us build a better picture of poverty in Wales by sparing as little as £3.25 a month.

If you do it before this Friday 16th November, we’ll send you a free pack of our beautiful ‘Pictures of Wales‘ greetings cards as a special thank you.
