Today is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, a timely reminder for all of us that poverty has no place in our world.

Our poverty infographic below paints a damning picture of poverty in Wales today.

  • Hundreds of thousands of children missing out on vital nutrients.
  • 1 in 5 adults being paid below the real living wage.
  • Work failing to protect against poverty, with thousands of households in poverty even though someone is working.

26 years on from the first official International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, poverty still prevails in Wales and round the world.

The Bevan Foundation is trying to fix the poverty that exists right here in Wales.

Our vision is for everyone in Wales to have a decent standard of living, to be able to meet their basic needs of adequate shelter, food and warmth but also enjoy some of things in Wales that make it a great place to live.

You can play a part in helping us paint a better picture of Wales by sparing as little as £3.25 a month.

Do it before 16th November and, as a special thank you, we’ll send you a free pack of our beautiful ‘Pictures of Wales‘ greetings cards.
