The Bevan Foundation’s annual review for 2016/17 highlights how we helped to improve people’s lives.

Our four key areas of work were:

  • a blueprint for reducing poverty
  • practical ways to boost pay
  • an agenda for Wales after Brexit
  • making the most of growth sectors

We’ve managed to reach a huge number of people:

  • 65,000 website hits
  • 7,000 Twitter followers
  • 1,600 Facebook likes

Many of our recommendations are now being put into practice:

  • we’ve increased public understanding through media coverage and briefings
  • we’ve strengthened democracy by providing independent evidence
  • we’ve influenced a wide range of other organisations’ policies and practices
  • we’ve shaped Welsh Government policies on taxation, economic policy, pay and the south Wales valleys.

We did this on a budget of just £153,000 a year, all of it generated from donations and grants or commissions from other bodies.

We could do much, much more with your help – find out how you can support us.
