One of our ideas to boost the economy of the south Wales valleys – that of creating a new type of enterprise zone for the area – has been taken up by Plaid Cymru.

Speaking in the Assembly Plenary session on 15th March 2017, Adam Price AM, spokesperson on the economy for Plaid Cymru, asked the Cabinet Secretary for Finance:

Will he look at the alternative ideas that are being proposed by the Bevan Foundation in terms of creating an enterprise zone for the Valleys?

The Cabinet Secretary replied that he has ‘a great interest in the work of the Bevan Foundation’ and then proceeded to outline the Welsh Government’s expenditure in the valleys and other parts of Wales.
