Crowdfund a better future!

Our crowdfunding campaign to develop new opportunities for Wales’ young people is now live – can you help?

Every year around 20,000 young people in Wales leave school without five GCSEs at grades A*-C, including Maths and English or Welsh.  Not getting these grades is often nothing to do with a young person’s ability – ill-health, emotional or family problems or poor teaching can all mean that a young person falls below this threshold.

Not getting good GCSEs has a serious impact on a young person’s future.

Without qualifications, a young person typically pursues vocational qualifications or an apprenticeship. While there is some excellent provision, too many young people end up in low-paid work in the future. And each year a minority of young people drop out of education and the workforce altogether.

We think this is unfair and want to find new ways of ensuring Wales’ young people have a chance in life.

We are applying to charitable trusts and foundations for funding to help us to undertake this work, but we also need help from people who want to make a difference!

We are asking for donations of £10 upwards to help us to raise £5,000. Time is short as the appeal ends on 3rd January 2017!

If you are able to give your support please do so via our crowdfunding page – we’re even offering some small rewards to say thank you!
