How to increase the employment rate of disabled people and older people in a tough economic climate was the subject of a lively seminar held on 6th March 2012. Involving people from the third, public and private sectors, delegates considered key evidence presented by Dr Peter Kenway of the New Policy Institute and then heard about the experiences of employment support organisations Shaw Trust, Working Links and Prime Cymru.
Delegates then set about the hard work of deciding what to do about it – and generated a set of proposals for action by employers and policy makers alike.
The seminar was supported by the Equality and Human Rights Commission – the report is available on EHRC Wales’s website.
