What can governments do to reduce child poverty?

With child poverty increasing and casting a long shadow over children’s lives, leading child poverty expert, Naomi Eisenstadt, outlines her thinking on what governments at all levels can do to reduce it.

About the speaker

Naomi Eisenstadt is an acclaimed expert on child poverty, advising the Scottish Government on reducing child poverty, chairing several poverty commissions and being a trustee of a number of charities. She was previously the first Director of the UK Government’s Sure Start Unit and its Social Exclusion Task Force, and also headed a number of non-governmental organisations.

Naomi is currently Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Oxford Department of Education and JRF Practitioner Fellow at the London School of Economics International Inequalities Institute.
