A half day live online training session

What’s it about?

This interactive session will help you to understand poverty in your area. It will show you how to access key sources of information and help you to understand the pros and cons of using them.  The course will cover:

  • Local data on aspects of poverty
  • Sources of information about household incomes
  • Sources of information about key household costs
  • Other ways of finding out more

The course will include practical exercises and time for discussion with other participants. Following this session, you will have the tools to be able to compile a profile of poverty in your area and the opportunity for a follow-up with our team if required.

Who should attend?

This session will be of interest to everyone concerned about poverty and deprivation in their communities, including people working in social landlords, local authorities, health boards, charities and the private sector.

You’ll be able to apply your learning to:
  • target your services on people and places in greatest need
  • support funding bids
  • develop your organisation’s strategy.

Please note that you will require access to a spreadsheet programme e.g. Excel and basic ability to interpret statistical information.
