The workplace has generally been set up by men to suit male working patterns and career outlooks. Women have won major concessions, but the model of work remains essentially the same. But what values do women want to see in a modern workplace?

Deborah will draw on her ‘Women in the Workplace’ research interviewing many different women of all ages and at all stages of their working lives, to provide an insight into what women want out of work, how they would change things if they could and how organisations might be run differently.

Deborah is the founder of the High Pay Centre, a non-partisan think-tank dedicated to exploring remuneration and corporate governance. She remains on the board and has recently written a book about executive pay published by Polity Press and entitled “Are Chief Executives Overpaid?” She is also chair of the London Child Poverty Alliance, a group of charities working together to alleviate child poverty.

Deborah is a financial journalist with a 20-year career at the Financial Times. She welcomes feedback and invites anyone interested in being involved in her Women in the Workplace project to email her.

This event is kindly sponsored by Chwarae Teg.
