This project aimed to understand the opportunities for young people in Merthyr Tydfil post pandemic
Young people have been severely affected by the pandemic, losing learning time, opportunities for social and emotional development as well as job opportunities. They are at greater risk of loneliness, unemployment and homelessness than any other age group.
Aims
- Understand the post-pandemic concerns and aspirations of young people in Merthyr Tydfil
- Identify gaps or opportunities in provision
- Offer recommendations for change and practical steps to achieve change
What we did
The Bevan Foundation listened to young people in Merthyr Tydfil through a mix of discussion groups, one-to-one interviews and other engagement methods. It worked with a number of providers of youth services to understand current provision and engaged with youth and community groups and with statutory bodies to ensure they would consider the findings of the project.
Key Outputs
The final report of the project is available below.
