No excuse for child poverty

The Bevan Foundation has welcomed a report by Save the Children Cymru which highlights the income of low family incomes on chidden.

Commenting in the Western Mail, Director of the Bevan Foundation Victoria Winckler said that the political will has gone out of the 2020 commitment to eradicate child poverty by 2020.  She said: “There are six years to go on that and it looks like we will be back to where we were in the 1990s.”  While child poverty fell between 1998 and 2004, the report says levels later stalled – even before the crash.
