‘Lifting’ people into work

Bevan Foundation Director Victoria Winckler has welcomed the Welsh Government’s pilot project to help people from workless families to find work. Speaking on BBC Wales Wales Today on 24th March 2014, Victoria explained that unfortunately many people are some distance away from being to compete in a very tough job market, and any steps that help them along the route are very valuable.

She also pointed out that although helping people to get the skills, experience and attitudes they need is important, it must not be forgotten that there need to be jobs for people at the end of their journey – this remains a very big challenge for everyone in Wales.
